Fire erupts at San Fernando Road wrecking yard

Los Angeles Fire Department crews from Batallion 12 responded to a fire at 9871 San Fernando Rd. shortly after 3:25PM  Monday, December 1 and found a vehicle on fire at an auto wrecking yard.  LAFD Battallion Chief Tim Kelly said a gas leak started the fire. It was contained 20 minutes after response time.

There was damage to the vehicle by the gas leak and minor damage to the adjacent portable trailer.

No injuries were reported.

Arson investigators are still determining the exact cause of the fire.
